Key to reading a GDC number. The first 3 letters identify it as a GDC number. The next 4 numbers are the number assigned to the dog, these are not breed specify. The next letter is H for hips or E for elbows. This is followed by the age of the dog in months when the x-ray was taken. This is followed by EN – Excellent, GN – Good, AN – Acceptable (Fair), N-normal, or Affected for failing grades. GDC did not break down affected joints into grades. |
