News of Interest:Meet the Breed All four
varieties of Belgians were represented in December 2009 at the “Meet
& Greet” held at the AKC/Eukanuba Dog Show in Long Beach,
California. The ABLA is grateful to our good friend Bruce Freedman
of TakiShan Belgians, who again invited us to participate in his
award winning both. Besides the dogs, the most notable feature of
the booth was the continuous loop, giant flat screen TV, showcasing
the 4 varieties performing in all the events in which they
excel…which is any type of competition.

There was a motion by Mrs. Schaefer, seconded by Dr. Battaglia, it was VOTE (unanimously;absent Dr. Haines) to amend the Foundation Stock Service Guidelines to lower the number of dogs required in order to request Miscellaneous Class status. Effective immediately, a minimum of 150-200 dogs with complete three-generation pedigrees must be recorded in the AKC Foundation Stock Service as part of the criteria for eligibility to move to the Miscellaneous Class and advancement to full registration will be contingent on growth in the enrollment of dogs in FSS and participation in AKC events. |
